The Crown season 3 expected in fall or winter 2019
By Bryce Olin
The Crown season 3 will not be on Netflix until the second half of 2019. We will not see The Crown season 3 this spring or summer.
We have some bad news about The Crown season 3. It’s going to be a while until you see the new season of the great Netflix original series.
According to a report from Deadline, The Crown season 3 will be added to Netflix in the second half of 2019. That means, by the time it airs, it will have been two years between the second and third season.
This news isn’t necessarily surprising. We knew The Crown was not coming this spring, but there was a chance we could see the series this summer, and I guess we still could. With that said, July is Stranger Things month. The Crown is not coming in July. August is not a good month for TV, and I think the streaming network will avoid that month for this series.

That means we’re looking at the fall or winter for The Crown, and I think that’s the right spot for The Crown in Netflix’s lineup. The first two seasons of the show were released in November (season 1) and December (season 2), respectively. And, I’m hoping we see The Crown in November or December of this year.
At this point, we’ve waited about two years for the season. I think we can handle waiting a few more months.
We’ll be sure to let you know more about the release date for season 3 on the streaming service as we find out.
The third season will be a lot different than the first two seasons. Obviously, we’ll see a time jump in the new season, but we’ll also see a lot of new cast members. Olivia Colman takes over the role of Queen Elizabeth II from Claire Foy. Tobias Menzies, Helena Bonham Carter, and Ben Daniels also join the cast for the third and fourth seasons.
