Tennessee: The 2000s

What is The Volunteer State known for? Many things, but one of those most notable is definitely music. Nashville, Tennessee is a music capital of the world, home to the Grand Ole Opry, the Johnny Cash Museum, plenty of record labels and a ton of hopeful musicians who are trying to strike it big. In fact, Nashville’s nickname is “Music City.”

Netflix has no shortage of great musical documentaries, but among the best are episodes featured in CNN’s various decade series. Here, we’ve recommended that viewers check out the musical episode, “I Want My MP3,” from The 2000s, but all of the different series in the collection have incredible music-centered episodes. Catch episodes that focus on grunge rock, disco and more.

These episodes are seriously entertaining, as well as seriously informative. They plunge viewers directly into another time, perfect for those Tennessee music-lovers who want to immerse themselves in all the basics. While Nashville may primarily be a hub for Country music fans, these docuseries episodes are still must-watch viewing for any fan as the coverage is so expansive. Not only can you catch the rise of Shania Twain, but you can relive Beyonce’s iconic hits. Get your binge on, Tennesseans!
