Mississippi: Last Chance U

There’s nothing quite like a reality or docuseries to showcase what a state is truly like in real life. If you’re interested in taking a little virtual trip out to The Magnolia State, all you need to do is tune in to Last Chance U on Netflix!

This fascinating series explores the trials of junior college football players who are given one last chance (hence the series name) to make it big and transition over to Division I. While the show does change locations at least once, most of the existing series focuses on East Mississippi Community College.

East Mississippi is notable because it is one of the most successful JUCO level programs in the country. Last Chance U showcases both the players who are struggling to overcome personal trials, as well as the advisers and coaches who are trying to help them succeed.

Even if you’re not into football, this series should actually prove to be pretty addicting. It’s a really personal look into the lives of the players and you’ll feel like you’re a part of the team. Who knows? Maybe the series will give you the inspiration to go see East Mississippi play a game some time, if ever you’re in the area.
