Delaware: Turn: Washington’s Spies

Whew, Delaware was a tough state for which to find adequate representation on Netflix. There’s plenty of great things that this gem of a state can be remembered by: it’s tax-free, it’s got beautiful beaches, it was the first state to ratify the Constitution and it’s home to former Vice President Joe Biden.

Unfortunately, there’s basically nothing available on the streaming service right now that covers these topics exclusively, or that is set in Delaware itself. Seriously! I mean, not even a Biden doc?!

In that case, we’re making do with the next best thing. In the spirit of honoring Delaware’s political and revolutionary roots, we’re nominating the AMC drama Turn: Washington’s Spies to represent The First State.

If you’ve never seen Turn, you’re in a for a real hidden gem. The series takes place during the Revolutionary War and follows a small group of spies who collect intelligence on the British enemy. It’s based on a true story, although it takes many liberties with some of the more personal information about the spies.

Turn is a great series to watch if you want to get your binge on, but can’t commit to a ten-season whopper. The show lasted for a mere four seasons, running from 2014 to 2017.
