Netflix’s best supernatural series, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, is back with new episodes on Netflix, and you should definitely watch this series!

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 2 premiered on Netflix on April 5, and after binge-watching all nine new episodes, I’ve come to the conclusion that this series, without a doubt, is Netflix’s best supernatural series by far.

Part 2 begins with Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) trying to walk the line between the Path of Night and the Path of Light. In her heart, she wants to be with her mortal friends. That’s the world she knows well, and she’s comfortable there.

But, after signing her name in the Book of the Beast at the end of Part 1, Sabrina worries what will happen when the Dark Lord calls on her and what could mean for her mortal friends when she is called upon. In other words, Sabrina likes to keep her options open, and in the new episodes, she still wants that choice.

We’ll avoid spoilers for the rest of this review because most fans of the show have not had a chance to dive in and watch Part 2 yet. Instead, the part of this show that I love the most is this magical world that Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and the writers have created.

As I am with Riverdale, I find myself less concerned about the plot and story of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and more fascinated with the world where these characters live. Anything can happen, and I’d be fine with it, for the most part. And, that’s the real magic of this series.

Some of the choices the creative team makes with this series are so ridiculous that they work extremely well. Like, what time period is this show set? There’s been much discussion about this, but it’s very pleasing. Sometimes, it seems like this show is set in modern-day, which is fine. Then, we see a scene where people are playing basketball and the characters are wearing Chuck Taylors like it’s the 1960s. It’s brilliant, and I think the ambiguous setting adds a layer of originality unmatched on TV today.

These quirky aesthetic touches make this show so much more than the run-of-the-mill supernatural teen drama. The Order, The Vampire Diaries  and others like it are great shows, but they don’t hold a solstice candle to Sabrina. This show has a lot going for it, and as long as they stay on the Path of Night, the viewers will be happy and will continue to watch this great series.

Thankfully, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has already been renewed for season 2. Part 3 and Part 4 are already in the works, and we’re expecting to see the new episodes sometime this fall on Netflix.
