What if, as a teenager, you were thrown into a world without adults? That what happens in The Society and the teaser gives us the dangerous look.

Netflix’s The Society is the latest YA drama series hitting the service. Now the teaser is out and gives us a hint at the danger in store. When the adults are away, the teens will pl…kill?

The teaser doesn’t share too much. With clips of the events that have happened, we’re mostly focused on one girl who is calling her mom. It’s been nine days since the teenagers have been transported somehow to a world that doesn’t include any adults. Now things are bad.

Sure, being on your own would be fun at first. As teenagers, they have the chance to play and party. They get to make up their own rules. But after a way, it’s clear they need some adult supervision.

The problem with teenagers ruling a world is that it’s a dog-eat-dog world. Those who are popular or have the ability to take over will become the leaders and then everyone else will be at risk. It’s clear from some of the shots of what’s going on that some people will die.

The Society is described as a modern take on the popular novel (and movie adaptation) Lord of the Flies. The teenagers don’t just have to manage a world without adults but also figure out how they’ve ended in this wealthy New England time. They’ll need to work out how to get home while forming alliances that will keep them alive.

Rachel Keller, Kathryn Newton, Alex Fitzalan, Kristine Froseth, and Jacques Colimon star in the 10-episode series. All episodes will be out on May 10 and it’s certainly one that you won’t want to miss if you enjoy the likes of The 100 and Shadowhunters.
