Before you go to see Jordan Peele’s new film Us in theaters, check out these five movies and shows you can watch on Netflix right now.

Jordan Peele’s follow up to the 2017 hit Get Out hits theaters this weekend. Us is sure to break all sorts of box office records. The horror thriller is sure to scare audiences with its intense style and psychological twists in what many critics are calling a horror masterpiece.

Before you head out to see it, check out these five picks on Netflix to put you in the right mood for Us.

1.Black Mirror: Playtest

The third season of Black Mirror was the first to be exclusively on Netflix, and provided several suspenseful and interesting stories. Episode 2, titled “Playtest,” follows Cooper, played by Wyatt Russell, an American in need of cash to get home. He agrees to be part of a playtest for a developer’s virtual reality experience, but the lines of what is real and what isn’t start to become less obvious.

The episode is tense, and full of scary imagery, just like the kind you will find in Us, but also like that film it is very funny. 10 Cloverfield Lane director Dan Trachtenberg helmed this episode, and he knew when to use humor to relieve the tension, something Jordan Peele is a master of as well.

2. The Invitation

This indie thriller from 2015 earns its spot on the list for finding the scary in the mundane. The film follows Will as he attends an extremely intense dinner party thrown by his ex-wife. The film takes a turn at a certain point in the film and leads to a whole new world of tension.

Directed by Karyn Kusama, The Invitation creates tension in a usually safe environment, and it makes you question the world around you. Hopefully, the safe-feeling, vacation homeworld of Us will be just as tense.

3. The Twilight Zone – Mirror Image

It’s no secret that Us has been compared to The Twilight Zone. It takes the world we know and forces it into a “What if” scenario, something made famous by the classic 1950s and 60s television series The Twilight Zone. The fear of doppelgängers presented in Us may have been influenced by stories like this classic season one episode.

In this episode, we see Millicent Barnes played by Vera Miles, as she becomes more and more paranoid about seeing someone who looks exactly like her and ultimately steal her life away from her. This is very similar to the doppelgängers we see terrorizing the Wilson family in Us, and Peele is set to revive The Twilight Zone next month for CBS.

4. The Sixth Sense

Peele has been compared recently to M. Night Shyamalan for the way he captivates an audience with the right amount of creepy and full-blown terror. There is no better example than Shyamalan’s breakout hit, 1999’s The Sixth Sense.

Bruce Willis and Hayley Joel Osment have incredible chemistry together as they explore the world of the dead that Osment reveals he can communicate with, and the creepy tone keeps us captivated the whole way through. The film is scary but it works because we care about the characters in play, and it helps to have one of the best twists in cinematic history as well.

5. Enemy

The final entry on this list is the 2013 mystery thriller Enemy. Written and helmed by visionary director Denis Villeneuve, this film stars Jake Gyllenhaal in another doppelgänger paranoia tale. Gyllenhaal plays Adam who sees himself in a movie and then around his world as well.

His life begins to spiral into madness, and we spiral with him and all of the psychological terror that comes with it. Peele is very well versed in film, and I’m sure he had this in mind when crafting his own work. We will see how the two compliment each other this weekend.
