Netflix has canceled another fan favorite show. One Day at a Time will not be getting a fourth season on the streaming service but there is still hope.

It is a sad day for one of Netflix’s greatest shows. One Day at a Time has been canceled after three great seasons. There is a chance it will be picked up by another network or streaming service (fingers crossed) but that’s not guaranteed.

Netflix is citing lack of viewers as the reason the show starring Justina Machado and Rita Moreno will not be getting a fourth season, but the fans the show does have are sure to let their feelings be known.

While diversity in media is getting better, especially on TV, canceling a show that tells the story of a Cuban-American family with a single mom, a daughter who is dating a non-binary teen, and that covers important issues does not look good on Netflix’s part.

What other show covers PTSD, dating, different genders, teens coming out to their families, racism, immigration, and sexism and also makes you laugh?

There aren’t that many and now Netflix has decided to take this wildly important and entertaining show off their streaming service.

The fans are sure to take to social media and express their feelings about this cancellation. And if the past couple of years have shown us anything, it is that fans can make a difference. Lucifer and Brooklyn Nine-Nine are just two examples of shows that were picked up by other networks because the fans started a campaign to save them.

The only problem is, Netflix is usually the ones to pick up those canceled shows. What happens when they are the ones that messed up? Only time will tell. But, if you are a fan of One Day at a Time, get on Twitter and Facebook and make sure your voice is heard. One Day at a Time is too important of a show to be off the air forever.
