Netflix is making a new series about the Thai cave rescue

Netflix is making a new miniseries about the Thai cave rescue in 2018. Divers were able to rescue 12 young soccer players and their coach after they were trapped for days in flooded caves.

Netflix has officially partnered with SK Global to make a new series about the Thai cave rescue, according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter. For those who don’t know, SK Global was the production company that made Crazy, Rich Asians, the successful romantic comedy from 2019.

According to the report, SK Global was going to make a movie based on the lives of the soccer team and its coach who were trapped in flooded caves in Thailand. They remained trapped there while rescue efforts were underway. Eventually, they were removed from the caves by a team of divers.

Netflix, then, stepped in after SK Global bought the rights to this story, and they have partnered to make this story into a miniseries (limited series) based on this story. We don’t know many details about this project yet. It still hasn’t been announced who is involved with his project, but it has all the makings of a huge series.

First of all, this story was one of the biggest news stories in recent history. The whole world was watching to see what would happen to these kids and hoping they would be able to make it out. Based on that alone, there is already interest around the world and people will definitely watch this series.

We don’t know when this series will be released. The Hollywood Reporter did not mention when this series would be released. We have to expect that it will be 2020 or beyond before this limited series hits Netflix. It appears this series in the very early stages of development.
