5 good movies on Netflix this weekend: Winter’s Bone and more
A list of 5 good movies on Netflix to watch this weekend, including Winter’s Bone, the first Netflix premiere of The Notebook and many more.
Don’t find yourself facing Friday night without a great movie to watch. March 1 has brought plenty of awesome new titles and you definitely won’t want to miss out! Here’s a small sampling of five very different movies to accommodate everyone’s tastes and preferences this weekend.
Let’s start with a can’t miss romance!
5. The Notebook
Get your tissues out: Nicholas Sparks’ classic love story The Notebook is (finally) making its way to Netflix. Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams star in this tale about two lovers whose passion withstands the test of time. It will seriously break you.
4. Winter’s Bone
Before she was rocking the brown hair as Katniss Everdeen in Hunger Games or picking up the Best Actress Academy Award for her work in Silver Linings Playbook, Jennifer Lawrence starred in the 2010 drama Winter’s Bone. This film will take you away to the dark and moody Ozarks, where young Ree Dolly sets out to find her absent father.
3. A Clockwork Orange
This classic isn’t going to be for everyone, but it’s a great watch if you’re into director Stanley Kubrick’s other heavily stylized works like The Shining or Full Metal Jacket. A Clockwork Orange is a creepy dystopian crime flick that revels in “ultra-violence.”
2. Apollo 13
This docudrama is a star-studded classic. Join Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, Bill Paxton and more aboard the Apollo 13 lunar mission to mars. This is perfect for movie watchers who like truly epic stories.
1. Stuart Little
Stuart Little is a great little flick you can watch with the whole family! Michael J. Fox stars as the tiny mouse that is adopted by a human family. Fun fact: this film was written by the now horror-famous screenwriter M. Night Shyamalan. Weird, but true.
