With fans outraged about editing The Notebook, Netflix UK had no choice but to explain. Which version with the U.S. fans get in March?

The Notebook fans have been understandably upset over the decision to share the less emotional version of the movie on Netflix UK. Not only has the UK subsidy shared an update about the reason behind the movie’s ending but fans can be reassured about the version coming in March.

Firstly, for those in the UK, it turns out that there are two versions of the movie. The streaming service says that it didn’t cut out the ending. This was the version given for release and now the company is looking into why it was this edited version.

While it’s not the answer fans quite wanted to hear — it does feel a little like the buck is being passed — there’s at least been an answer. There’s hope that the fuller version will be released later on. Fans have even asked for both options to stay, so that fans can choose which ending they want to watch.

Meanwhile, See What’s Next has calmed some of the fans. The Canadians get the full version of the movie, so there have been questions about which one U.S. fans will get when the movie drops on the service for the very first time next month. The answer is the right version.

It’s the full version coming, so you’ll get all the tear-jerking moments. The Notebook ends (sorry for the spoiler) with Noah and Allie on the bed, both passing away in their sleep and holding onto each other. With the highs and lows of this romantic movie, it’s the perfect way to end it. Sure, it’s not the way the book ends but it’s an adaptation and one that pulled at our heartstrings.

By the way, See What’s Next is from Netflix U.S., so we can officially share that the full version will be included. It’s also coming on Mar. 1 according to the tweet, unlike the original tweet starting Mar. 15.
