Can Deadpool 2 be streamed on Netflix or rented from its DVD service?

Deadpool and Deadpool 2 are two of the most popular movies of the last few years. Obviously, Netflix subscribers want to watch these movies on the streaming.

Deadpool 2, starring Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with a Mouth, is unfortunately not available to stream off of Netflix. That said, it, along with the original Deadpool, are both available to be rented from Netflix’s DVD service. Either can be rented as a DVD or a Blu-ray disc.

Deadpool 2 is distributed by 20th Century Fox and is adapted from the Marvel comic book anti-hero Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool. Staples of the character include excessive violence, breaking the fourth wall and never knowing when to shut up.

If you want to watch Deadpool 2 on a streaming service, without paying anything extra, the only places you’ll be able to do so is on HBO GO or through DIRECTV. If you want to rent or buy it online though, it can be found on Prime Video, iTunes, Google Play, YouTube and Vudu.

Unlike most movies, three cuts of Deadpool 2 exist. First is the theatrical cut, which is the traditional base version that played in theaters. The second rendition of the film to exist is The Super Duper Cut or the unrated version as it’s also listed as. The Super Duper Cut can be found alongside the theatrical cut on HBO GO and adds about fifteen minutes worth of new content.

The third and final version is Once Upon a Deadpool. Once Upon a Deadpool is a special PG-13 construction of the film that brings the film’s rating down from an R to a PG-13. This version also includes a new framing device where Deadpool recounts the story of the film to a captive Fred Savage. Unlike the Super Duper Cut, Once Upon a Deadpool is not available to stream on HBO GO. It did, however, play in theaters for a limited time.

With Disney’s recent acquisition of Fox, it’s hard to say what will become of Deadpool’s future and his existing films. Perhaps one day they will move to Disney+, Disney’s upcoming new streaming service, but for now, Deadpool 2 will stay on HBO GO for the time being.
