Stranger Things 3 is going to be even darker and scarier than the first two seasons, according to star Natalia Dyer.

Stranger Things star Natalia Dyer teased the new season of the hit Netflix series will be “bigger, darker, scarier,” according to a report from CBR. Stranger Things 3 is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on July 4, 2019.

Dyer made the comments in an interview with MTV at the Sundance Film Festival. Dyer was promoting the Netflix film Velvet Buzzsaw, which she stars in. The film was released on Netflix on Feb. 1.

We shared the video of the interview below, via MTV. Check out the full interview. It’s very good.

Dyer’s comments should not come as much of a surprise to Stranger Things fans. From everything we’ve seen and heard so far, the new season is going bigger than it ever has before. Her comments on the new season seem to echo what we’ve heard about the season so far. Gaten Matarazzo also teased a darker season, as did producer Shawn Levy.

Unfortunately, the stars are sworn to secrecy about the new season, so all we are going to get until the official press tour begins this spring are vague descriptors like this. I don’t mind it, though, because it doesn’t spoil anything and it gets viewers excited for what’s to come. If the new season is really going to be darker and scarier than the first two seasons, I’m all in! Well, I’m all in regardless, but you know what I mean.

We should be getting the trailer for the new season shortly. We thought there was a good chance we’d see something during the Super Bowl, but Netflix did not share the trailer then.

Stay tuned for more news about Stranger Things 3! We should find out more information very soon.
