Netflix renews The Kominsky Method for season 2

The Kominsky Method season 2 is officially happening at Netflix. The streaming network announced the Golden Globe-winning series has been renewed for season 2.

Netflix has renewed The Kominsky Method for season 2! The streaming network just announced the news in a teaser trailer posted on YouTube and social media. We shared the announcement below.

This is one of the least shocking renewal announcements from the streaming network in some time. There were reports Netflix already wanted to renew the show for season 2, but they were in discussions on the episode count of the new season.

The Kominsky Method is Netflix’s most decorated comedy every after one season, and it’s the only comedy nominated for three Golden Globes. It won two of those Golden Globes, one for Michael Douglas as the lead actor and the other for Outstand Comedy Series.

According to a report from Deadline, the new season will be eight episodes, like the first season. It was reported that Netflix wanted to see 10 or even 13 episodes in the new season, but it looks like they are just sticking with what worked for the first season.

Deadline is also reporting the new season starts production in the next few weeks, which means there’s a great chance will see the new season relatively soon. The first season premiered last fall, so I think there’s a good chance season 2 will be released in the fall of this year.

We haven’t heard any details about the plot of the new season, but we have to imagine that it will pick up right where the first season left off. I also imagine this will be one of Netflix’s most decorated shows by the time the new season premieres. It will definitely be up for a few Emmys after its success at the Golden Globes.
