Netflix prices are going up a few dollars per month, according to new reports. The basic plan now costs $9 and the standard plan costs $13 per month.

Netflix is raising prices again.

According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, Netflix is raising prices to all plans. The basic plan, which used to cost $8 per month, now costs $9 per month. The standard plan, which is the most popular plan among subscribers, will now cost $13 per month, up from $11 per month. Netflix’s most expensive plan now jumps to $16 per month.

Netflix last increase prices in 2017, so it’s been a bit since the streaming network rolled out a price increase across the board.

If you are a current subscriber, you will not be expected to pay more on your next bill, though. Netflix is rolling out the increases over the next few months. In the past, the streaming network has let subscribers know 30 days before those prices increase. So, you’ll have at least a month to decide to cancel your subscription or pay the higher price.

If you don’t have a Netflix subscription and you want one, you’ll start paying the higher prices when you sign up.

Obviously, these price increases were expected. Analysts predicted Netflix could not continue to spend what they were spending without raising prices at some point. Hopefully, you find that the increased prices don’t break the bank.

I understand why Netflix subscribers would be mad about prices going up again, but that’s, unfortunately, how Netflix is going to compete against Hulu, Disney, WarnerMedia and all the other streaming service that will be popping up. The streaming network needs to be able to pay for all the content they are creating, like Stranger Things, You, Orange is the New Black, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and all your favorite shows and movies on the streaming service.

We will be sure to let you know more about Netflix prices and any changes to those prices in the future.
