Legacies season 1 is coming to Netflix in April 2019

The CW’s Legacies is the hit spin-off of The Originals. When can you binge the first season of the boarding school supernatural series? When is Legacies on Netflix?

The CW opted to bring a spin-off of a spin-off in fall 2018. Legacies is the spin-off of The Originals, focusing on Hope Mikaelson, the only witch-werewolf-vampire tribrid in the universe. Now it’s time to get ready to binge it on Netflix. Legacies is coming to Netflix in April.

When The CW announced its spring premiere dates, it also announced some of the finale dates for its shows. The 16-episode series Legacies was one of those, with a finale date of March 28, according to Deadline. Thanks to the agreement between The CW and Netflix, we know all shows stream eight days after their finale dates and that means Legacies will be on Netflix on April 5, 2019.

That’s only three months away. It really isn’t that long to wait at all for those who missed a few episodes in the beginning and really want to see everything to catch up. Plus, it’s a Friday, giving you something perfect to binge throughout the first weekend in April.

Out of the three fall freshman shows on The CW, Legacies sits in the middle with the ratings. It’s popular with The Vampire Diaries and The Originals fans and that was helped by Hope being introduced as a teenager in the final season of The Originals. Fans got a chance to know her.

Plus, Alaric Saltzman is part of the series, bringing The Vampire Diaries fans into the show that may have decided the slightly more adult spin-off wasn’t for them. Set in the Salvatore Boarding School in Mystic Falls, there are certainly plenty of throwbacks to the original series.

Legacies will likely be renewed for a second season. We’ll find that out sometime soon, as The CW tends to make announcements between January and April. The renewal will likely come before the series is available to stream.
