Stranger Things 3 poster teases Mileven, new monster and more

One summer can change everything in Hawkins! Netflix shared the Stranger Things 3 poster and teased the Fourth of July 2019 release date for the season.

Netflix announced the Stranger Things 3 release date as the clock struck midnight on 2018. At the same time, they also shared the first official Stranger Things 3 poster, and it’s awesome!

The poster, obviously, includes the Stranger Things 3 release date of July 4, 2019, and that appears to be the setting of the poster, as well. In the poster, Dustin, Lucas and Max are looking at the Fourth of July fireworks, while Will and Eleven (now Jane, probably) are looking at back at something behind them. Mike and Eleven are holding hands.

Based on the spider-like monster legs coming from the bottom of the poster, I think it’s implied that Will and Eleven are looking at this new monster. What it is, we have no idea at this point, but I’m sure we’ll find out more information sometime soon.

The poster also features the tagline for the new season: “One summer can change everything.”

I don’t know about you, but to me, that feels like it is building to something even darker than the first two seasons, and that’s no good for our heroes!

This season will be very interesting for a number of reasons, but I’m most excited to see how the  summer setting is used to enhance this series. I loved the first and second season, but there’s just something about summer and the kids being out of school that really opens this series up to even more nostalgia. There’s a lot of IT potential with this group of kids.

In addition, this is the first time we’ll likely see storylines that put Will and Eleven together. They have been separated for most of the first two seasons, so I’m excited to see Noah Schnapp and Millie Bobby Brown in more scenes together.

Netflix should ramp up the promotional content for Stranger Things 3 in the next few months. Hopefully, we see another Super Bowl commercial! Stay tuned for more news about the third season of Netflix’s best and most popular show yet.
