Netflix announced the Stranger Things 3 release date on New Year’s Eve in a new teaser trailer and date announcement. We shared the announcement below!

Fans have been waiting for the Stranger Things 3 release date for what seems like forever. This summer, we learned the new season was scheduled for a summer 2019 release. Now, we finally know when the new season will be back.

In the announcement, we see a countdowm of the Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve in 1985 at 11:59 p.m. Then, as the countdown gets closer to midnight, the screen starts to turn upside down!

Seconds later, words pop up on the screen: “One summer can change everything…”

While it’s a bummer we have to wait all the way until July 4, it looks like the show will be set at the same time but in the summer of 1985.

In the date announcement, we also see the phrase “silvercatfeeds,” which is a clue that some found in the new Stranger Things book. It looks like it is some type of computer program, but that’s all we can guess at this point.

Stranger Things 3 is going to be the biggest show of 2019, aside from Game of Thrones, and a July 4 release date is only going to increase the hype surrounding this show. I can’t wait until we finally see some real footage from the season.
