Marvel’s Iron Fist season 2 is coming to Netflix this year

Marvel’s Iron Fist season 2 will be released on Netflix in 2018, and fans might recognize Danny Rand aka Iron Fist might be sporting a new look.

Marvel’s Iron Fist season 2 is coming to Netflix this year!

According to a report from Comic Book Report, Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb announced Iron Fist season 2 will be released on Netflix in 2018. Loeb was answering a question in a Reddit AMA about whether Danny Rand aka Iron Fist will don his suit in the new season.

Loeb did not address the suit question directly, but he did reply “You’ll be very happy with Season 2 coming this year!” That means Iron Fist will be getting his suit this year, and after meeting Daredevil in The Defenders, Danny might have had Matt introduce him to a guy who might be able to help in the suit department.

Loeb did not announce when exactly to expect the new season, but fans will not have to wait too much longer to see Iron Fist in new episodes of a Marvel show. The character, played by Finn Jones, is set to make an appearance, and hopefully more, in Marvel’s Luke Cage season 2 on Friday, June 22.

Marvel announced Iron Fist was renewed for a second season at San Diego Comic-Con 2017. If it all shakes out, there’s a good chance we’ll learn more about this new season at SDCC this year.

This comes as a bit of a surprise as we anticipated Daredevil would follow Luke Cage in the fall with Iron Fist stashed for the spring of 2019. The show did follow Luke Cage the first time around, and there’s enough time later this year after the release of season 2 for Netflix and Marvel to roll out the next season.

This likely means, Daredevil season 3, which was expected in the fall of 2018, will be the show stashed for the spring of 2019.

I wasn’t as down on Iron Fist as some critics were. Danny’s character came off annoying at times, and there were some problems with the story. But, there were some really strong points of the series, as well. Jessica Henwick was excellent as Colleen Wing, and the series set up some really interesting directions to take the Netflix-Marvel stories.

We will be sure to let you know when we find out the release date for season 2!
