Marvel’s Daredevil season 3 could be delayed until 2019

In a surprise, Iron Fist season 2 will debut in 2018 which could push Daredevil season 3 into next year.

While fans are already counting down until the release of Marvel’s Luke Cage season 2 on June 22, another Marvel show is waiting in line behind.

But it’s not the show we thought that would follow. According to a report from CBR.com, Iron Fist season 2 will premiere on Netflix later this year, most likely in November or December.

This comes as a big surprise to Marvel fans because production on Daredevil season 3 started before Iron Fist and the expectation was that it would follow Luke Cage and have new episodes by the end of the year.

That means, with Iron Fist season 2 coming out at the end of 2018, there won’t be any other new Marvel seasons this year. We know there will be three shows released this year and that will be Jessica Jones season 2 which came out in March, Luke Cage season 2 on June 22 and the undetermined 2018 date for Iron Fist season 2.

So when can fans expect Daredevil season 3 on Netflix?

I think it’ll be in the customary March window like the first two seasons. Typically, Netflix prefers to keep their marquee shows in the same month to give fans a semblance of consistency. So we’ll target a March release date for Daredevil season 3. It’s a bit of a longer wait than fans may have anticipated.

My hope is season 3 will be an awesome one with the return of Wilson Fisk in a bigger role than season 2 and hopefully, he’ll have the same type of presence as he did in the show’s first season. Plus, we have the rumored casting of Bullseye as one of the primary villains this season. Comic book fans know all too well about how dangerous this assassin is to Matt Murdock and those he loves.

And if you watched The Defenders mini-series last summer, you know about the born again storyline involving Matt’s mom, Maggie, who was mentioned in the final scene of the mini-series. Maggie will be played by Joanne Whalley.

Stay tuned as we will update you all when we get more news surrounding the return of the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen.
