Mystery Box Challenge top 3 Dishes
Two of the top three dishes in the first challenge were cooked by girls.
Beni: Beni fixed a herb-crusted steak with ginger quinoa and sautéed kale with dill and yogurt sauce for the judges. The dish melded complex flavors together and made Beni a forerunner in the first episode

Elimination challenge – fruit tart
Many experienced chefs have trouble producing the perfect fruit tart. The crust must be thin and flaky, and thick enough to support the filling and fruit topping. Some of the chefs managed to save themselves from elimination by the appearance of their tarts. The chefs with the best looking tarts were sent to the balcony to watch the reminder of the challenge. J
Ariana, Beni, Olivia, Evan, Emily, Sophia, Anthony, Henry and Maria quickly made their way to the balcony leaving six cooks in jeopardy of going home. The remaining cooks (Zia, Lindsay, Avery, Quani, Juelz, and Ben) faced some tough criticism from the judges.
One of the contestants cried when Gordon called her up for a closer look at her tart. Unfortunately it is a competition and every week two contestants must leave the MasterChef Junior kitchen. This week was not exception. The pursuit of the MasterChef Junior title ended for two of the talented junior chefs.
