4. Marvel’s The Defenders

This show definitely got some mixed reviews by diehard Marvel fans, but it’s important to remember that the overall reception was positive. The Defenders currently boasts a 7.6 on IMDB and a 74% with the critics listed on Rotten Tomatoes. The show isn’t perfect, but it’s certainly good fun.

Personally, I find the break from cinema’s Avengers to be welcome. Most of the Defenders characters are quite strong, and far more complex and dark than their cinematic counterparts. Get in on the fun and check out the miniseries today.

Follow Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist as they (finally!) get together and team up to fight the powerful Hand. The events of the show take place shortly after Daredevil season two and Iron First season one.

At first—as seems to always be the case in “team-up” shows and movies—the individual Defenders don’t seem like they’ll work well together. Ultimately, they must come together and overcome their differences to protect the people they love.

Will there be a Defenders season two? The show’s status is currently still unknown. While I believe that the show will inevitably be renewed, Netflix certainly likes to take its time when it comes to announcements.

Cross your fingers that we’ll catch more of this delightfully dark gang soon! At least let the already confirmed renewal of all four of the individual Defenders’ shows comfort you as you await another get together in the future. You can also watch the companion series, The Punisher, which is available to stream now.
