The Office revival is happening at NBC but without Michael Scott (Steve Carell). Who’s ready to go back to Dunder Mifflin?
There have been some interesting rumblings about a small paper/printer company in Scranton, Pennsylvania. According to a report from TV Line, NBC plans to revive their hit sitcom The Office with Greg Daniels, the original showrunner of the U.S. version of the series, in 2018-19.
As many of our readers are big fans of The Office and watch the series on Netflix regularly, we had to share this big news with readers. It’s not all good news, unfortunately.
Steve Carell, who starred as Michael Scott in seven of the nine seasons of the series, will not be involved in the revival. It’s unclear which cast members would return for the new series, although TV Line reported some of the original main cast would be back.
As a huge fan of The Office, I’ve been waiting for this day since the show ended in 2013. My only hope is that as many original cast members return as possible. I would welcome any new faces, but I’d love to check back in with all the other characters.

The next piece to the puzzle would be making sure The Office revival was added to Netflix!
If The Office were to return, Netflix would have as good of a chance as any to pick up the new seasons of the revival. Hulu and NBC have been partnering up lately, as Comcast, which owns NBC, also owns a portion of Hulu. The Will and Grace revival is also heading to Hulu. But, Netflix has the streaming rights to every season of The Office. I don’t see a reason NBC would only make The Office revival available on Hulu and not Netflix. The more eyeballs, the better.
