2. Craig T. Nelson

Craig T. Nelson is an overall great actor. In recent years, you might have seen him in the ultra-popular NBC show Parenthood, the Netflix Original comedy Grace and Frankie, or the Disney animated classic The Incredibles (which is getting a sequel next year!). His repertoire proves he’s effective as a dramatic actor but flexible enough for the light-hearted moments we often encounter in Stranger Things. I think it’s safe to say he could handle a role in the growing franchise.

In addition to his impressive recent credits, though, is his background in classic horror. Even if you’ve never seen the movie, you can probably recall the little girl from Poltergeist, sitting in front of a staticky TV. It’s an image that’s hard to forget. In case you had forgotten, Craig T. Nelson was a part of the original movie.

Poltergeist is a classic 80s thriller. If Nelson can handle that, I’m sure he’d be a great addition to Stranger Things 3. Like many of the other movies mentioned in this slideshow, Poltergeist was a source of inspiration for the show, so it would follow that one of its cast members would be an easy fit.

Will we see an appearance from Mr. Nelson in season three? I’m really not sure. He’s been involved with some successful projects as of late, but I wouldn’t label him as the most in-demand actor. This could mean that he’s available for work, and he’d come off as a choice similar to that of Paul Reiser or Sean Astin.
