2. Eleven returns

What happens: The phone rings while Joyce and Jim are interrogating Will. They all barricade themselves inside the house and anxiously wait for the Demogorgon beasts (“DEMODOGS”, yells Dustin, somewhere in the distance) to arrive.

Growling sounds can be heard outside when the creature suddenly jolts through the window into the room and falls to the floor, dead. The chain lock magically comes off, the door opens and Eleven walks in. She is officially back. End of Chapter 8.

Bad bitchin’ or cool bitchin’?

Super cool bitchin’! One of the most (if not the most) iconic scenes of all season 2. The one moment that had us all drop the popcorn and sit on the edge of our seats while bawling our eyes out —or was this just me?

The tension, the unexpected Demodog twist, the suspense that ensues, the anticipation, the dull sound of her feet treading the floor, the freaking slow motion; this is what you call a bitchin’ entrance. Not only do they all find out she is alive but she has just saved the day (yet again!). The outfit and the new look is the cherry —on top of an extra spoonful of whipped cream— on the cake.

It is also the long-anticipated reunion with Mike. And it is the prodigal child’s homecoming for Hopper.

Eleven returns but not as the little girl she used to be. She has changed, she has grown, she is the hero that they need to defeat the Upside Down. She is the only chance they have of saving Hawkins.
