6. Lucas

I know what you may be thinking about Lucas. He was mean to Eleven when the boys found her and she became a part of their circle as they tried to find Will. But hear me out. Lucas wasn’t necessarily mean, as much as he was being overprotective of his other friends. And I don’t blame him for that for one second. How would you react if one of your best friends vanished without a trace? Would you be suspicious of strangers who were so close to your other friends? I would. How about if this stranger had an heir of mystery surrounding them and they barely spoke and they demonstrated some special abilities. I’d be a little weary about being open and welcome.

But let’s give Lucas some credit because he learned to trust Eleven, even after she could have killed him after he went flying in the air when she couldn’t harness her powers. He was her friend and she was his. What I really loved about Lucas was how fearless this guy was. He was the one who carried the slingshot around like he was David and ready to fight Goliath. And that’s not a stretch considering the Demogorgon was so frightening. But when the monster had the boys cornered in the classroom at Hawkins Middle School, it was Lucas who had the courage to fight. He took out the slingshot and fired some shots at the monster. Thankfully, Eleven was there to really save the day, but credit Lucas for the bravery.
