Stranger Things 2 returns to Netflix on Oct. 27 and there are even more episodes in the new season than there were in the first season.

If you thought the first season of Stranger Things was awesome, and I bet you did if you’re reading this article, then you’re going to really love Stranger Things 2. The first season was nominated for 18 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series, and walked away with five wins. But Stranger Things 2 is bigger and better than the ground-breaking first season.

That’s right, season 1 was eight episodes of a love story to the 80s movies we grew up watching and loving. But the new installment will have nine episodes. Yes, this is an early Christmas present, because Stranger Things is giving us an entire bonus episode. Eight episodes would have been great, but nine is even better and I can’t wait to see what the writers do with that extra 50-60 minutes with which to work.

Rarely will you see a show have a nine-episode season, but who says there has to be anything normal when it comes to Netflix and Stranger Things. I mean, stranger things have happened than a show having a nine-episode season, right?

Stranger Things is keeping the episode titles for the last three episodes a secret for the time being, and that’s probably for the best because we would speculate what the title meant until we were blue in the face until we could all watch the episode on Oct. 27.

And with Stranger Things expected to have at least two and probably three more seasons, maybe the future seasons will keep growing too. If the story is there, I’d rather they do that than try to cram everything into eight episodes.
