Check out this new Stranger Things season 2 poster, which is a nod to Ridley Scott’s 1979 film Alien.

The new Stranger Things season 2 poster was just unveiled on social media Thursday, and it looks pretty familiar.

If you are cinephile or a fan of the movie Alien, you might recognize some similarities between the original Alien poster and the new Stranger Things season 2 poster, according to a report from Screenrant. Some fans were quick to catch the reference, while it took some others a few longer.

If you have seen the series, you know the Duffer bros make many references to late 70s and early 80s popular culture. And, the style of the series is inspired by many of the storytellers from the era and later, including Stephen King and Steven Spielberg.

The poster reads, “In The Upside Down, no one can hear you scream.” Pretty terrifying words for those who saw the first season of the series.
