Updated ranking of the 50 best crime TV shows on Netflix, including Bloodline season 3, starring Kyle Chandler, Linda Cardellini, Sissy Spacek and Norbert Leo Butz.
One of the most underappreciated shows on Netflix is Bloodline. The Netflix Original series is one of the best crime dramas I’ve seen in a long time but unfortunately, I don’t think it had enough viewers to make Netflix want to keep it in production. But make no mistake, the cancellation after the show’s third season isn’t about the quality of the program because it’s easily one of the 50 best crime TV shows on Netflix.
Bloodline season 3 was released on May 26 with 10 episodes that provided the final chapters to the story of John, Kevin, Meg, Danny and Sally Rayburn. They aren’t bad people but they did a bad thing. And that bad thing has led to a series of bad things and one lie after another that has destroyed their familial bond.
Kyle Chandler plays John Rayburn who is at the center of the show. Without spoiling anything for viewers who aren’t caught up, John’s character has had the burden of fixing everything for his parents and his siblings. That burden weighed on him until he reached his breaking point and did something that he could never take back. Now John is dealing with the consequences of his actions and the dangers of lying and concealing a lie and the ramifications they can have on generations. John and his siblings, Danny, Meg and Kevin didn’t have the best parents but they did the best they could do, but the true horrors they lived with as children manifested in the way they acted as adults.

The third season isn’t perfect as the writers had to condense three-four seasons worth of material into 10 episodes. Some stuff felt rushed, some things were glossed over and some things felt forced due to time constraints. However, that’s nitpicking because the season was a fantastic way to finish the series. I just wish there was more. Nevertheless, the way Bloodline left viewers is sure to linger in the minds of fans for many weeks and months to come.
You can see where Bloodline ranks on our list of the 50 best crime TV shows on Netflix from the link above. It’s clear to see from our ranking that the show isn’t lacking for any recognition or respect it so richly deserved. Bloodline deserved better, just like the Rayburn kids.
