Stranger Things  has big plans for Will Byers, played by Noah Schnapp, in the second season of the series. Stranger Things season 2 premieres on Halloween 2017!

Will Byers, played by Noah Schnapp, will play an even biggers in the story of Stranger Things season 2 than he did in the first season, according to a Mashable interview with Stranger Things executive producer and director Shawn Levy.

Will was the key character in the first season that drove the entire plot of the season. It was all about finding Will. Now, Will is back from the Upside Down and has to learn to deal with what he experienced there. I still have not forgotten Will puking up weird slug things at the end of the first season, and I doubt Will has either.

In the interview with Mashable, Levy mentioned the creators knew Schnapp had the potential to be great when they cast him for the role. As it turns out, the young actor is doing even better than expected with the increased screen time in the second season.

Here is part of the quote about Will from Levy, via Mashable:

"“Will Byers is very much at the center of Season 2. Noah steps up in the most staggering way. The Duffers and I, depending on who’s directing when, we keep sending texts to each other going, ‘holy shit, Noah is crushing it’ and we knew he had it in him, and it’s really now to get in that moment, and put him firmly in the thick of story."

I think Will’s story and recovery is going to be very interesting in the next season. It could mess up some of the dynamic between the characters we all fell in love with in the first season. With his moment in the spotlight, Schnapp should impress us just as much as the other young actors have in the series. I thought Schnapp was great in the first season, and I think he will be even better in the second season.

Levy also mentioned Stranger Things has more ideas already in the works for the third season and beyond, according to the report. That’s not new information, but it’s great to know the creators are not interested in wrapping up this show any time soon.

Stranger Things season 2 premieres on Netflix on Halloween (Oct. 31) 2017. That’s so long to wait!
