Iron Fist has been in development for more than a decade and was originally thought to make a great movie. After a series of failed attempts to get that production off the ground, the plans for a movie were scrapped in favor of a series along with shows for Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage.
After waiting patiently for those seasons to have their debut seasons, and a second for Daredevil now is the time for the show to introduce itself to the audience.
Scott Buck serves as the showrunner and brings with him experience as a producer for noteworthy shows like Dexter and Six Feet Under. Scott Reynolds who was also a producer on Dexter with Buck serves as a producer for this new show. This marks the second Marvel show for him after writing the teleplay and serving as a producer for Jessica Jones.
John Dahl directs the first two episodes and has directed episodes of House of Cards, Californication, House of Lies, Justified, Hannibal, Jessica Jones, Billions, Kingdom, The Affair, Ray Donovan and Rounders.
Also directing an episode is RZA, the legendary member of Wu-Tang clan. I think rap and hip hop is going to serve as a character in this show just as it did in Luke Cage and bring an added element to the show and the Marvel Cinematic Universe we’re in.
