Netflix is releasing a new season of an original series on a Tuesday…

This might not be a shock to most people, but it is to us.

Netflix has established a clear pattern of releasing their new shows and movies on Fridays. At the end of the Stranger Things Season 2 trailer, though, Netflix announced the season would be released on Halloween 2017, which is Tuesday, October 31.

So, is Netflix breaking the pattern here, or are we just assuming Halloween means Oct. 31 and not Halloween weekend?

There is a chance the new season could actually be released on Friday, Oct. 27. The trailer did just say “Halloween,” and because Halloween weekend is technically Oct. 27-29, it seems likely Oct. 27 could be the actual release date for the series.

I think most people like that Netflix releases shows on Friday, so they can binge through the series over the weekend. Stranger Things is definitely one of the binge-watch favorites on Netflix, so it’s going to be interesting to see what happens with spoilers and how people try to watch the series.

With that said, House of Cards Season 5 is also scheduled for a Tuesday release, as well. Maybe Netflix is experimenting with new release dates for their shows? We’ll likely find out soon.

If the new season is coming out on Oct. 31, I’m all for making Halloween 2017 an international holiday. Please, will somebody make a petition to make Halloween 2017 a holiday in honor of Stranger Things Season 2?
