The first look at Stranger Things season 2 was revealed during the Super Bowl and we can’t wait for new episodes to come to Netflix.

The Stranger Things season 2 teaser was released during the Super Bowl, giving fans of the Netflix Original series their first look at the upcoming season. Even if you weren’t a fan of the New England Patriots or Atlanta Falcons, watching the game was a must after we found out on Friday the teaser would air during the game.

Before we get the Stranger Things season 2 teaser, let’s revisit a few things we have confirmed for the new season.

What we did know heading into the teaser being released is Millie Bobby Brown is back as Eleven, the show is set one year later in the fall of 1984 and we’ll have some new characters.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the season will play like a sequel to a movie and will be even darker than the first. And the episode titles to the nine new episodes were featured in the season 2 announcement last August.

Let’s check out the Super Bowl ad that also tells us season 2 is coming on Halloween.

UPDATE 7/11: Season 2 arrives on Netflix on Oct. 27.

The Halloween release is odd because that means it’ll be coming out on a Tuesday instead of the traditional Friday for Netflix shows. This also means it’s going to be much longer than we initially thought new episodes would come. We already were bracing for a fall release but hoped for something in September, but late October will have to do.

We hope to get another teaser in a few more weeks to tide us over until the official trailer comes out about five-six weeks before the release date. For example, Netflix released the trailer for the most recent season of Orange is the New Black five weeks before the new episodes aired.
