Updated ranking of the best horror movies on Netflix, including Final Destination 3 which was added on August 1 to the streaming service.
The start of a new month is a fun time for Netflix users because it’s a time when a flood of new movies are added to the streaming service. This month is no exception and the horror genre added 2006 release Final Destination 3, which has subsequently been added to our ranking of the 50 best horror movies on Netflix.
The third in the movie franchise was Glen Morgan and James Wong who also directed the movie that stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ryan Merriman and Kris Lemche.
Unfortunately, the first two Final Destination movies aren’t on Netflix so that’s kind of a bummer, but unlike most sequels, you don’t necessarily need to watch the first two movies to understand and appreciate what’s going in the third installment.
It doesn’t continue a storyline from the first two movies and is really just another movie about teenagers trying to escape the grim reaper. Winstead’s character Wendy sees a premonition before boarding a roller coaster that the ride derails and kills everyone on board so in a panic she and a bunch of her friends and others trying to get on the ride avoid dying when the premonition proved true and killed everyone on board.
From that moment, the teens think death is chasing them and even though they escaped the grim reaper once, they won’t be able to outrun him for long. One by one, death comes for the kids, which sets up a horrifying chain of events for Wendy and her friends as they try to outwit the grim reaper.
If you’re in the mood for a good scare, check out Final Destination 3 and see where the movie ranks on our list of the 50 best horror movies.
