50 Best Movies on Netflix: Begin Again

Begin Again starring Mark Ruffalo, Keira Knightley, and Adam Levine ranks in the 50 Best Movies on Netflix!

In our latest update of the 50 Best Movies on Netflix, we are featuring Begin Again starring Keira Knightley, Adam Levine, and Mark Ruffalo!

Begin Again was added to Netflix at the end of April, and we added it our ranking of the 50 Best Movies on Netflix! This week, we wanted to feature Begin Again in our ranking because it’s not quite getting as much buzz as some of the other shows and movies on Netflix!

For those who don’t know, Begin Again was written and directed by John Carney. The film premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in 2014. Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo, Adam Levine, James Corden, Hailee Steinfeld, Yasiin Bey, CeeLo Green, and Catherine Keener star in the film.

In Begin Again, Dan (Mark Ruffalo), a former executive in the music industry who is struggling with alcohol abuse and being a terrible father, sees something in Gretta (Keira Knightley), a young musician, and the pair record an album together.

If you liked John Carney’s movie Once, you’re probably going to enjoy Begin Again. The films are quite different, but there are some obvious similarities between them.

I don’t know if Begin Again is quite as good as Once. It’s definitely close, though. Mark Ruffalo and Keira Knightley have great on-screen chemistry.

Begin Again didn’t get much love on the awards circuit, but it was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song for “Lost Stars.” The song was performed by Adam Levine and written by Gregg Alexander and Danielle Brisebois.
