Life is a 10-part documentary series produced by the BBC. The series ran for ten consecutive weeks on BBC in the U.K. through October and December 2009. Life is narrated by David Attenborough for the BBC version. The series later aired on Discovery in the U.S., and those episodes were narrated by Oprah Winfrey in English and Juanes in Spanish.

Life focuses on Darwin, evolution, and how different species do what is necessary in order to survive. Each episode deals with a different species, and the episode titles are listed below:

  1. “Challenges of Life”
  2. “Reptiles and Amphibians”
  3. “Mammals”
  4. “Fish”
  5. “Birds”
  6. “Insects”
  7. “Hunters and Hunted”
  8. “Creatures of the Deep”
  9. “Plants”
  10. “Primates”

My favorite episode is probably “Creatures of the Deep” because it’s terrifyingly cool, but every episode is outstanding. The cinematography in the series is stunning and beautiful.
