Did we just find out when Stranger Things season two will be on Netflix?

The first look at Stranger Things season two will happen during Super Bowl 51 between the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night. One of the commercials during the game will feature the first official teaser for the Netflix Original series that became a pop culture sensation.

Fresh off winning a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series and a Golden Globe nomination for Best TV Drama, the excitement for season two is reaching new levels of “fandomonium.”

Stranger Things twitter account shared a tweet, which we thought was just a way of saying there will be news coming on Sunday and that it would be the teaser. But now we think the picture is a clue telling us when season two will be on Netflix.

As one studious twitter user pointed out, the difference in temperatures for Friday and Saturday are  ‘9’ and ‘8’ and when you get the difference for the barometric pressure you get ’17.’

So is Stranger Things season 2 coming 9-8-2017?

And the Sunday forecast is clearly a reference to Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown. It’s already been confirmed for months that the character will be back for season two. But I think the 11 and -11 is a reference to the Upside Down, and that could be a clue about where she went after blowing the Demogorgon to pieces in the season finale.

Granted this is just a theory, but it does make some sense, especially if you want to believe, which is understandable because the show is so awesome. A September release would be two months after the July 15 release for season one. It stands to reason it would take a little longer to put together a second season so being pushed back is totally normal.

I’m thinking we’ll get a definitive answer when the teaser airs during the Super Bowl, but for now, we can circle September 8 on our calendars for the potential return. When the teaser drops Sunday, we’ll have all sorts of reaction to it, so be sure to follow us on social media and visit the site for the latest news about Stranger Things season two.
