Stranger Things premiered on Netflix on July 15 with eight, hourlong episodes of the supernatural series from The Duffer Brothers. The series stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour and Matthew Modine in the mystery thriller that is a combination of The X-Files, Goonies, E.T. American Horror Story, Poltergeist and classic Stephen King movies.

Yes, that’s quite the combination and that’s why the show is generating such hype and word of mouth on social media. Our social media profiles have been littered with people professing their love for the show and people are already waiting for word of a second season.
To provide some context to just how well Stranger Things is being received in the days since the July 15 release, we looked at the rating it is receiving on Rotten Tomatoes.
At the time of publishing, the average Tomatometer checks in at 90 percent and the average audience score is a robust 97 percent who liked it.
Further, IMDB gives it a 9.2 user rating based on more than 14,000 votes so far.
Needless to say, Stranger Things has been received extremely well and has fans already clamoring for more episodes and when and if there will be a second season. That’s a sign the show is resonating with fans and with such favorable reviews, it stands to reason Netflix will want to capitalize on this success and continue to make more episodes so long as people like it.
